Curiosity works best with care.

Standards for accurate reports, respectful discussion, safe exploration, and a useful public archive.

Approach

Be curious and be honest

Auranite welcomes open-minded exploration and healthy skepticism. Reports do not need to prove an extraordinary explanation, but they should describe the available information honestly and distinguish observation from interpretation.

  • Describe what was seen, heard, recorded, or reported before offering a conclusion.
  • Label firsthand experiences, secondhand accounts, and historical archive material accurately.
  • Include reliable source links when adding historical cases or claims drawn from elsewhere.
  • Do not invent dates, coordinates, witnesses, quotations, evidence, or source details.

Respect

Challenge claims, not people

Disagreement is expected. Harassment, threats, hate speech, personal attacks, and sustained intimidation are not permitted. Discuss the evidence and reasoning without humiliating the person who shared an experience.

Safety

Protect privacy and physical safety

  • Do not publish private addresses, contact information, identifying documents, or other personal data without clear permission.
  • Do not encourage trespassing, confrontation, dangerous exploration, interference with emergency services, or other illegal activity.
  • Use location privacy options when an exact pin could expose a private residence, sensitive site, habitat, or vulnerable person.
  • Contact local emergency services when there is an immediate threat to life or property. Auranite is not an emergency response service.

Media

Share authentic material you may use

Upload media you created, have permission to share, or may lawfully use. Explain significant edits, generated elements, reenactments, or illustrative images. Do not present altered or unrelated material as original evidence.

Quality

Keep the archive useful

Do not post spam, scams, repeated duplicates, link-only promotions, coordinated manipulation, or unrelated advertising. Self-promotion must be directly relevant, clearly disclosed, and secondary to useful information about the event.

Moderation

How standards are enforced

Moderators may reject, edit, hide, or remove content that violates these guidelines or reduces the safety and usefulness of the archive. Accounts may be limited or suspended for serious or repeated violations.

Moderation decisions consider context, source quality, harm, and patterns of behavior. Publication on Auranite does not mean Auranite endorses a claim or confirms that an event has a paranormal cause.

To report a concern or appeal a moderation decision, include the event or comment URL, your account username, and a concise explanation.
